I'm a twenty seven year old Marine Corps veteran from a cotton town in West Texas. Being clear, from the start...I never joined the service out of a particular ideology. It was simply an adventure. I may elaborate on that further at a later date. I suspect it deserves explanation.
I'm a Libertarian Socialist in spirit...not so much in action. I mean, really...how do you go about living by ideals that will mostly only function once this current experiment fails? I do my best though, while being able to admit fully that I'm taking advantage of the current system just like everyone else. I fail along with the masses, but attempt to pull myself up by the bootstraps. It's really not that fun a game to play, but oh well.
I've been married for over five years. We have a fantastic, painful, comfortable, miserable, passionate, scary, etc...etc....relationship. In the end, I love my wife so much. I'd probably lay down and die if I didn't have her. That's one of the things they leave out of the marriage manual. If you really love someone, you're ruined for self-sufficiency once they say they love you back. Go figure.
Currently, I'm an active screenwriter in Southern California. Specifically, Santa Barbara. Basically, that means I'm like almost every other jerk you'll meet in this state.
Of course, I'm special, so I pity their futile toil.
In all honesty, I'm pretty damned near done with a fantastic spec, and I'm looking forward to (and not) driving around in the filthy air of Los Angeles (okay, mostly not) peddling my paper wares to people pretending to notice me.
As it stands now, I'm looking for a writing partner, though I'm not sure exactly how to go about doing so. Craigslist doesn't tickle my fancy. I might just have to actually actively pursue a friendship with someone in writing circles, which bites...because I dont particularly like people.
Finally, I'm a Christian. I'll kill what I suspect are the normal assumptions by providing the following statements:
Yes, I absolutely believe in the prevailing evolutionary theories.
No, I don't care about your sexual orientation, much less am willing to condemn you for it.
I do not think God restricts access to a serene afterlife to Christians.
While I think the literal word of God is untouched by the faulty logic of man, I do think that many parts of the Bible contradict His message. In particular, I think it's pretty lame that a large portion of the Bible is dedicated to blaming the human need for war on God's will.
No, I don't care...not even a little, if you think it's nuts that I believe any of what I do. I'm at peace with my faith, and as long as it does not impact you in a very literal, negative way....you should be too.
The "religious right" today in no way reflect the teaching of Christ. I'm sure He's super pissed.
I think that'll have to do it. Good times.

Aaron Dietz says:
You're so right in not liking people. In general they suck. And also not in general they suck. In general stores, they suck. In shopping malls they especially suck.
