"We all admire the spangled acrobat with classical grace meticulously walking his tight rope in the talcum light; but how much rarer art there is in the sagging rope expert wearing scarecrow clothes and impersonating a grotesque drunk! I should know." (Vladimir Nabokov)

About

Attention to details and the moment.

"You can't depend on your eyes when your imagination's out of focus" Mark Twain
I grew up (in a small town in Illinois) listening to A.M radio and longing for the big city (Chicago). I remember when WLS radio would play a new song, I felt it was written and sung just for me. I related to and let those moments effect me profoundly. Realizing that in any moment thoughts could result in creativity, emotions and imagination can run free, and that vision can be captured.

"The concentration of the actor is what lures the concentration of the audience." Maria Aitken

My 10 years of acting and training has given me the insight and vision of what defines a character. Techniques learned from Elaine May, Stanislavsky, Michael Shurtleff, Maria Aitken, Keith Johnstone, Del Close and Viola Spolin have become 2nd nature in "reacting" to the moment, character and script. In the moment of reaction, the organic character is born, the opportunity to capture it is now. This is the moment we work for in a photo shoot. This is why I love photography.

"What makes us laugh is the playing of one emotion immediately and unexpectedly against another." Michael Shurtleff

Photographs are an invitation, dance and stimulation of the heart and brain. As a Photographer it’s important to understand, create, and plan what's needed with each type of shoot i.e. portraits, glamour, weddings, product, family, editorial, music etc.

"You cannot see anything that you do not first contemplate as a reality." -- Ramtha

My photo sessions are relaxed, professional and individualized. We will speak and meet before our session to determine a direction that’s right for you. I approach each shot like a casting director. “The actor prepares", however we are in the business of reacting. During the shoot we will explore and capture the organic emotions that will separate you from the rest. Marketability is an undertone of my process.

I learned Photography through trial and error. Self challenge and hard work. Once I had a grasp of the f-16 rule I started taking classes at Julia Dean in Venice. Most notable is the course "The Art and Business of Wedding Photography" with Yvette Roman.

This my passion.
