I saw the New York Dolls in a Bowie shirt.: Fan-fucking-tastic. Danced on a box through their set. Like watching a little piece of history emphysemicly stagger through a set.
Epitomising my life, I'd like to think.: Other people's clothing (a bra), apartments, and cameras. Oh, and a rum and coke, I think.

Blog to stop from shouting, which you wouldn't do anyway. But it's a nice thought.
So I was sitting here yesterday thinking of all the friends I've watched fade away from these really all-too-bright streaks of light I thought they were to something entirely different, either with a career or a case of beer and the TV screen occupying most of their time. If that wasn't depressing enough, I wondered exactly which one of those would consume me for the rest of my life in their eyes, because hobbies don't count and occasionally writing something online doesn't really make up for a lack of direction. "Sam," I said, "You've got to get some Direction, or, failing that, at least some sorta Destination, because with one of those you could probably find a vector to follow." So I decided on Portland, not entirely arbitrarily.
It's not that I think Portland will be drastically different than most places in the US, it's just that it will A) have more open spaces than this current city of New York and B) have a few people I know that I met in Mexico, and if that ain't random then maybe this whole chaos thing is a cleverly crafted joke to mislead people from believing in intelligent design.
As of now, I haven't packed my bags, and I haven't made any plans, but I did email someone, which is 'bout as inactive as you can be on a project like this. And then I realized, non-too-originally, that inaction of any kind is the hood on my lantern, and the only way to get around it is to swell up Really Big and light the fucker on fire. Shoulda made it more fireproof, Mister Watchmen, eh?
But I don't think that's going to happen any time soon.

Shrooms: Are one helluva drug. I'll give out the full story to anyone who wants it, but basically it involved me losing all concept of time. Very strange. I didn't color those; wouldn't have been capable.
I play the dulcimer and generally putz about. Sometimes in the evenings I like to drink and sing and act all merry, buy a bagel at three in the morning, and call it a night. Sound design is a current interest. I've got a mind like a sharpened but rusty knife.

Oh, don't get me started on Neil Gaiman. You'll never shut me up. ^_-
Have you read Good Omens by Gaiman and Terry Pratchett? I really ought to read that again. Gaiman can write anything--comics, short stories, novels, children's books--and they're all worth reading. My advice: don't stop until you've read it all.
