About

"Sights become sentiments Allen quickly converts into choruses." - Natalie Appleton, Vernon Morning Star

Fresh out of the west coast scene, this high energy solo artist is already making waves. Andrew Allen - with his sensual vocal styling and groove inspired acoustic rhythms - broke away from the band life after touring extensively, to explore the world, and all that it has to offer. Seeing the world from his job on a cruise ship, this long boarding 20 something has taken the sound of the Caribbean and the feel of the west coast and combined some tight rhythms with some tasty melodies. Comparable in flavor to acts such as Jason Mraz, Maroon 5 and Bedouin Soundclash, Andrew Allen brings a feel to the stage that engages his listener's to an authentic groove experience while keeping a pop overtone similar to Jack Johnson.

Taking home the BCIMA's 'Best New Artist of 2008' award, Andrew Allen may seem relatively new to the scene, however, he's no stranger to the industry. He's played the A Channel in Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg, New Music West, and opened for "The Moffats", "Jann Arden", "Amanda Marshall" and "Wide Mouth Mason" as the front man in his first band as well as toured with Juno Award Winner, "Greg Sczebel". This "...hot new act" with his impressive track record and over two dozen sassy new originals is confident that he not only has the tools to take the first step, but he also has the staying power to climb the whole staircase.

With his debut album "The Living Room Sessions" having been released in May and his tour dates starting in July, he's sold over 1000 copies of the record independently, toured and played live in more than 80 venues throughout Western Canada and the UK, secured airtime on CBC radio, received the rating of top 30 plays on the X in Kamloops as well as top 10 folk records of the year on the same, developed an excellent internet presence and following and has been voted the Best New Artist of the Year... all in just a few months... imagine what the next few will bring!

Macclesfield, UK News Review

When you attend a multi venue festival it is customary to check the programme for who is playing where and select your favourites and work out your own timetable to try and catch the bands you think want to see. In theory.
The practice in my experience is entirely …
