Hello Everyone!
I hope you don't mind me sharing part of my journal with you periodically.... I never feel more closer to God than when I read His Word. I often make notes within my journal for the things that I feel the Holy Spirit telling me. So... here it is.....

Today I opened my bible randomly as I always do and came across the following:
Psalm 34:9-10 (one of my favorite chapters in the bible is Psalm 34)
9 Fear the Lord, you his godly people,
for those who fear him will have all they need.
10 Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry,
but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing
ALL WE NEED:
"those who fear him will have all they need." This is not a blanket promise that all Christians will be rich. After all, many Christians face unbearable poverty and hardships. It reflects David's belief in God's goodness - all those who call upon the Lord will be answered, sometimes in unexpected ways. In what unusual ways have you seen God act in your life? How do these experiences help you to trust Him in other situations?
On Friday, one of the mothers of the kids I watch after school through the YMCA pressed a $10.00 bill in my hand and said that for some reason God was pushing her to give it to me. Of course, it caught me off guard and I tried to give it back to her because she had been experiencing a cutback in hours and had to take one week out of the month off without pay in order to keep people from being permanently laid off. She had been bringing her son every other week to the program instead of weekly, but her hours had picked up at work that week. She just looked at me and said she felt that God wanted her to give it to me. She didn't know why, but sometimes the Lord pressed on her heart to do that. So... I took it and went to the bathroom and cried like a baby because I could feel God's love was all over that. So.... I put the money away and made a mental note to myself to keep my eyes open for what God wanted me to use it for.
The chance came on Sunday when, my daughter, Halley, invited two girls from her school to go to church with us. I had been trying to talk to Halley about inviting some of her friends to come with us to church, especially those who she didn't think attended church or did not have God in their life. One of the girls that she had invited was a known athiest at school. When we went to pick the girls up, the one girl said she was starving and hadn't had anything to eat all day. She said her mom had not fixed anything to eat for them. I had about $13.00 in my checking account and would not get paid for 2 more days and I also needed gas for the car. I remembered the $10.00 the mother had given me and took the girls and got them something to eat before we went to church Sunday night.
I remembered that I also had a couple of free coupons for the coffee shop at church that Trevor Cox had given me to invite people to church. So I gave each girl one before we went in and told them they could get a free drink after church was over.
That night at the end of Perry's service when he was giving the invitation and inviting people to give their lives to Christ, Halley could see the girl twitching in her seat. She kept praying for her to stand up and finally Halley leaned over and whispered in her ear if she wanted to stand up, that Halley would stand with her. The girl nodded her head YES and jumped up out of her seat. That night.. when Perry told them to pray out loud.. you could hear people shouting loudly the prayer to their salvation. IT brought me to tears! My heart was jumping for JOY to hear that many people LOUDLY ask God to come into their lives! So... the girl finally gave her life over to Christ!
This past weekend we tried to get her to come back to church, but she was not home. I told Halley that if she wanted to start going to FUSE on Wednesday nights, I would gladly pick her up and take her on my way home from work every Wednesday. We will see.
So... with all this being said... BLIND FAITH.... doing what you feel prompted to do by the Holy Spirit.. not knowing the rhyme or reason why....but just.. trusting that God is at work and knowing He has a greater plan .. if we will only listen to His Holy Spirit within us... and do what we are prompted... when we get the feeling of our beating hearts about to jump out of our chests.... we will be rewarded greatly by HIM.
I went back and told the mother what that $10.00 bought all because she listened to the prompting of God to "just do it". $10.00 bought a soul for HIS KINGDOM that day!
It took TEAMWORK for that to happen. It took her trusting what God was pressing on her heart to give to me... it took me to be obedient and listen for what God wanted me to use the money for and my daughter to do her part in inviting the girl to church. We are all a part of the body of Christ and we all have to do our part in order for God's plan to work.
SO ladies and gentlemen... Tell me... In what unusual ways have you seen God act in your life?
May God bless each and every one of you and open your minds and hearts to His will in life!
Love in Christ!
Cindy
