Job Part 2

So the book of Job starts out with God allowing Satan to do everything to Job except kill him. Satan thinks that Job is only faithful to the Lord because he has lead a trouble-free life. First Satan kills all his animals, then his family, then gives Job sores from his head to his toes. The majority of the book of Job is conversation between Job and his three "friends" Bildad, Eliphaz, and Zophar. Like I said before, most of this book is still out of my intellectual reach. But I get the idea that Job is FRUSTRATED because he has been faithful to God for his entire life and done great things for him and now is suffering GREATLY. His friends see the same thing, but they see it is "Job has lead a blameless life, and now a few things start going wrong and he turns against God." I mean he lost EVERYTHING and is in extreme pain. I think I would wish I were never born as well.
Job is pissed at this point. He's like "Dudes, ya'll suck at this whole friend thing."
Anyways, here is what I learned this morning. Job has acknowledged that the CLOSER YOU FOLLOW GOD, THE MORE DANGEROUS YOUR LIFE BECOMES. Satan picked Job for a reason. It says over and over in this book that Job lead a blameless life. Satan knew that if he could crack Job then there would be no hope for the rest of us. Job says "Surely, O God, you have worn me out; you have devastated my entire household. You have bound me-- and it has become a WITNESS." So far, Job has been quite a witness for the Christian faith. He has become quite the barbarian. He knows that following the Lord in ALL circumstances is DANGEROUS but totally worth it!!

Ok, I'm headed to the BEACH!!!!!!!!!
