So I was sitting here writing in my journal trying to recap what has taken place in the month of August. I decided that it was so phenomenal that it needed to be blogged about. The big picture is that 800ish people received Christ at Newspring. NOT NORMAL! Now, I don't know all 800 people personally but I do know 5 of them and 2 that admitted that God is knocking on the door of their hearts. As I was writing down the names of these people I realized just how far they have come. 0 out of 7 people came from a churched background! They were all people that most churches would consider "out of reach." Let me just paint a picture for you. In this list of 7 people that I know personally there are\were: 4 drug addicts, an atheist, a cancer patient, a theft, a single parent, and a child of multiple divorces. But you know what made these people reachable? They were a brother, a cousin, an uncle, a neighbor, a teammate, a friend, and a son. God places us in the lives of people that need Jesus, that's all there is to it. These people took time and energy to reach but the point is THEY WERE REACHABLE! That's why I thank God for places like Newspring church that go after the people that other churches don't want. But Newspring wasn't the reason these people crossed over the line of faith. Most of the ministering to these people took place outside of church. God places us in the lives of people every day, not just Sunday, that need Jesus! These 5 people saw Jesus because someone they are connected to took the time to show them what He has to offer. PRAISE JESUS!!!!
