-It was 44 degrees this morning...brrrrrrr...I'm not gonna lie, I didn't love it but I like at a whole lot more than 80 degrees at 7 a.m. and it will be beautiful this afternoon
-I had an encounter with an inappropriate "you too" phrase yesterday that had me laughing at myself (what else is new). Those of you that are Mitch Hedberg fans will appreciate this one. I was passing through a toll booth yesterday and after I paid the kind lady at the toll booth she said "Drive safely." Without missing a beat I immediately said "you too!" DANGIT! As I drove off I couldn't help but finishing what I started by saying "You toooo...you know........if you drive anywhere..drive safely doing it....I'm a dufus." hahaha. I should have rolled down the window and waved my arm out the window and said "TAKE LUCK!"
-I had a blast on Saturday night hanging out with my family. We cut up for about an hour carving pumpkins. I would say that Lee and Dad tied for 1st place in the "best looking final product category." Dad's pumpkin was named Scary Larry and he was scary indeed. Lee, however, won for creativity. If I knew how to insert a pic I would. He carved a demonic Santa that was a public statement protesting the premature celebration and purchasing of Christmas decorations. Gina won the "most improved" award this year with her skeleton man pumkin. I, unfortunately yet not surprisingly, won the "special pumpkin" award for my lack of artistic ability! My poor pumpkin was struggling but he made it out alive with an old school "triangle eyes and nose plus jagged tooth mouth" appearance.
-This is really gross but it just happened and this is a random post so here it goes: I just saw a college student pick his nose and eat his booger in class...SICK!
-I could have listened to Roseangela sing "In Christ Alone" 50 times last night...
-I attempted to run 13 miles on my own yesterday. I started walking at 8. I felt lame walking with my marathon belt contraption that holds my water and sport gels so I decided to leave it in some bushes and come back to get it later. I got about a quarter to a half-mile away and realized that my car key was in one of the belt pockets! I also rolled my ankle on a piece of gravel about 4 miles in. I struggled without Wes, my running buddy. I was reminded of what I read in Ecclesiastes last week about two being better than one because when one falls the other is there to back them up but when one falls alone it can be disastrous. Yesterday was disastrous!!
-I left my car ON accidently for several hours on Saturday and of course killed my battery
-I enjoyed meeting new people as well as hanging out with new people this weekend. I tend to let my timid nature control my actions, but when I embrace new relationships it always turns out to be a positive experience!
-I finally found the new Mint Three Musketeer candy bar last night and was very disappointed. It tasted just like a York peppermint patty. Don't get me wrong, I love York pepperment patties but I was expecting something new. Plus, I was really hoping that the inside would be green. I don't know why but mint choc. chip ice cream is so much better when it is green!
-I started listening to Purpose Driven Life yesterday. Books on CD are a new thing for me but I like it. You just have to get past the fact that the person speaking sounds less genuine because they are literally reading word for word.
