I know that my blogs are usually long and drawn out, but this one is short and probably the most important I have ever written (that is, important to read).

One of my very best friends from college, Jess, her mom was killed in a car accident on Monday night. Four of her closest friends booked flights on Wednesday and now are in Chicago. We have been here since Wednesday but have not seen her yet, it is now Friday. She keeps going back and forth on whether or not she wants to see us. Whenever we are en route (which is about a 2 hour process because we have to take a train into the city then back out) she changes her mind. But today we WILL see her. The wake is this afternoon at 3, central time. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, if you have a moment, pray for her family as well as us. None of us have ever been in this situation and feel lost. We know that all that matters is that we are there and that there is nothing we can say, but we still want to be what she needs at this time. Pray that the GOOD Lord will guide our every word and our every comforting action. He has gotten us up here and for the most part things have gone smoothly (which is a great accomplishment for four southern girls in a big city with little guidance). I am fully relying on his protection, guidance, and love but I have no idea how I will handle the darkness that I can feel already from the other side of Chicago. Just pray. Thanks.
