The other night at FUSE we were rockin' out to "Salvation is Here"during worship. I noticed this guy, probably in his late 30s or early 40s that had his hands raised singing the crap out of the song. I get pumped up watching other people worship, especially when it is obvious that they want to crawl out of their skin with emotion. Then I heard this guys story. He was in a car wreck a couple of years ago and now is unable to SPEAK. I can't imagine the reality of knowing that you are no longer able to verbally communicate after doing so for the better part of your life. His world was turned upside down. I mean think about it, nothing is simple for him anymore. He can't share his feelings with anyone or even ask for something to drink without exerting great effort. He had to learn a completely new language as an adult. Yet he was still standing there showing that the LORD IS GOOD!!! In the midst of great tragedy he chose to believe that there is a higher power that trumps anything bad in this world by presenting something even greater...JESUS.
