As Perry spurred us on to really focus on the song we were singing and worshiping our God instead of going on automatic pilot yesterday at Newspring, these lyrics caught my eye:

"Glorious One

Light of the world
You outshine the sun"

I was thinking about how powerful that statement was as I drove to work this morning. The sun had already risen but just to the point where it is too low to cover with my overhead visor thingy. I was blinded by the light and just really noticed how powerful the sun is. But to know that my God OUTSHINES THE SUN is more than I can fathom. My mind cannot wrap itself around that concept. I found a good verse when I got to work (yes, I am getting paid to read the Bible!!) and here it is:

"Then sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brighntess of the moon shine on you, for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory." Isaiah 60:19

Not only does God outshine the sun but he will OUTLAST it as well!! Since I cannot fully understand the brightness and power of God I thought I would find a few facts about the sun since I have time to do it. Here we go....

-the sun is 92,950,000 miles from the earth yet we still feel its heat
-the temperature of the sun is 10,000 degrees F on the surface and 28,000,000 degrees F at its core
-864,000 miles in diameter
-4,180,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 pounds

You get the picture. The point is God created the sun at the drop of a hat. He outshines, outlasts, outilluminates (totally made that word up I think), out-everything the sun!!!!
