After missing it at the cinema (it seemed to be shown gone from the local theatres after a blink of an eye) and months of waiting, I finally have seen the latest Darren Aronofsky film, The Fountain.

I'm not going to include any spoilers here, or go into great detail about the plot and meaning of The Fountain. What I will say is that this is definitely not a film for everyone. It was only after my second viewing that I truly came to appreciate what a beautiful and poetic movie this is, and although questions remain I'm pretty sure of my interpretation and what it all means.

For anyone who has lost a loved one, or mediated on the thought of your own mortality, you must see this film. Just ensure when you do see it, you're prepared to take it all in and really think about it.
