BOCA RATON, Florida (AP) -- A charge against former Creed frontman Scott Stapp stemming from an apparent confrontation with his wife was reduced to a misdemeanor Monday. Stapp had been charged with aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony after he was arrested at his home Sunday. No one was injured, Palm Beach County sheriff's officials said. Judge Cory J. Ciklin reduced the charge "because the allegation is that Stapp threw a bottle of Orangina at his wife, at her head, and missed and the bottle broke," sheriff's spokesman Paul Miller said. "Based on the circumstances, the defense attorney argued that was not a deadly weapon," Miller said. E-mail and phone messages left at the office of Stapp's attorney, Robert Gershman, weren't immediately returned. Stapp, 33, married Jaclyn Nesheiwat, Miss New York USA 2004, in February 2006 in Miami. The couple have a baby daughter, Milan Hayat Stapp. "This is a private matter between the members of the Stapp family and we would hope that their privacy is respected. Scott and Jaclyn are both well, and any further relevant information will be forthcoming at the appropriate time," said a statement from Stapp's record company, Wind-up Records. Stapp was scheduled to be released Monday on supervised release. He would be subject to random drug and alcohol testing, Miller said. His former band, Creed, sold more than 25 million records in the United States. He has since launched a solo career. Stapp won a Grammy Award in 2001 for best rock song for Creed's "With Arms Wide Open."

zipppppppppppppper. debatezzzz also: something i read of interest. So after reading everyones views there are some things I agree with cc on and some that I don't. HRC-I don't think you can say she was a winner. Her BIGGEST problem is that there are alot of us out here who do not like her. Period. She has to, I repeat has to, convince those voters to give her another look. I don't get the impression that any of us changed our minds last night. Did she lose, No way. She was poised and answered the questions in well scripted ways, which is one of the reasons why alot of us don't like her. Just my two cents. Also her answer on the mistake question was weak. The losers I will give you. Richardson, as much as I wanted, really really wanted, him to do well he tanked it. And Biden did well and I think will now move up to the 4th spot on the line overtaking Governor Richardson. Richardson isn't out of it yet, but he is looking more and more like a VP everyday. Edwards and Obama (and I think HRC too) held their own. No major problems but no real home runs either. This is where I think the candidates go from here. Obama will start to roll out policy specifics real soon. He's got our attention now show us what you got. Hillary I think is going to see her poll numbers level from the slight drop they have been taking, but will that be good enough. I don't think so, I expect a more aggresive air from the Clinton camp targeting Obama's lack of experience. Edwards is going to continue to do what he has been, working Iowa, NH, nevada, and SC hard, and trying to raise money to stay viable. I think of all the big three Edwards will benefit most from Richardson's fall. Most of us know that Biden and Dodd are non-starters so I really don't see them picking up huge gains.
