BY DEMONS BE DRIVEN hails from the Martinsburg area of the eastern panhandle of West Virginia... just 10 miles from historic Harper's Ferry, the site of John Brown's Civil War raid. The band was formed in February of 2006 by guitarists Justin Catrow & Timmy Bennett. They soon recruited an old jammin buddy, Josh Welch, to play bass and about that same time the duo persuaded drummer, Adam Miller, to quit the local band he was playing with at the time to join 'BDBD'.

They four spent the summer of 2006 writing and rehearsing and trying to find themselves a singer, but had no luck. With the end of summer fast approaching they decided to round up some bands and throw a Labor Day party (which is now their annual Labor Day Metalfest) and open the party themselves in hopes of generating a buzz and word of mouth to help find a singer... and their plan worked! After the show they were approached by Aaron Hess, who became the 5th and final original member of BY DEMONS BE DRIVEN.

Within six weeks of completing the line-up they were headed to a local studio to record their debut EP, "Through Dying Eyes". It was a quickie job, recorded live (except for the vocals and solos) in just 3 days and for about $500... but the band was more than satisfied with the results. After playing shows in the local 4-state area nearly every weekend from September '06 to February '07, the band entered a battle-of-the-bands called "Headbang For The Highway" in March '07 in which the winner would recieve a record deal and opening slots on several US tours and festivals. BY DEMONS BE DRIVEN took the stage on March 17th at Jaxx in Springfield,VA and took 1st runner-up behind their buddies, DAHLGREN PROPHECY. Both bands advanced to the Regional Round in June... but only one of them would still be around at that time.

Internal conflicts and disputes over dedication and direction led to the band breaking up after their last show together at the end of May 2007. Guitarist and founder, Justin Catrow, retained rights to the name and music and has since been looking for the right people to help raise BY DEMONS BE DRIVEN from the ashes. He had no luck until December of 2007 when two of the original members entered the fold once again. Nothing concrete has been established yet, and 'BDBD' is still two members short at this point. But stay tuned, as hopefully the summer of 2008 will see BY DEMONS BE DRIVEN taking the stage once again!!!
