INFLUENCES
"Some of my biggest influences are Elliott Smith, Regina Spektor, Conor Oberst, Billy Bragg, Sam Beam, Bob Dylan, Eminem and Jack Johnson.

ABOUT INOAR
Rigel Minor is the singer, songwriter and brains behind the band Inoar. Inoar stands for In Need Of A Rescue and was originally "I.N.O.A.R, Will She Return?" But after weeks of saying it to friends and hopeful fans, it was changed to Inoar(Ih-Nor). "Need a rescue from what? And from who? Her? Unlikely. Now it's just a name. It still means In Need Of A Rescue but I want it to feel like a name and sound like a name. I'll leave the rescuing part up to whoever comes to my aid from anything life throws at me. We all want to be rescued from something at some point or another and I still feel lost in this world, so, why not?. My real name was given to me by my father and if I ever make a name for myself in this life I don't want to represent the name given by him. I'll save my real name for paychecks, managers and the feds." This self-starter group consists of one member and is recorded and managed from misc. locations through out northern Vermont. All instruments and sound effects consisting of hand/mouth percussion, guitar, piano, bass, violin, drums, harmonic and other random instruments and/or sound effects are all a product of Inoar's imagination and creativity. Though the lyrics are a bit depressing they are all a part of Inoar's inner thoughts and feelings about life and situations still being dealt with. "Some of my favorite artists like Regina Spektor and Elliott Smith always say that they want their music left open for interpretation. Elliott Smith once said 'You can take a photograph of New York City and someone might look at it and say ''Wow, that's really depressing and scary looking.'' And if you take that same photo and show it to someone else they might look at it and say ''Wow, that looks like so much fun. Imagine all the things you can do there.'' That's how I want my music to be heard.' I love that concept in creating music but if I am angry, upset or possibly happy that's what I'll write about and that's what I want my listeners to feel. I don't want to force people to feel the way I do and I don't want them to pity me or be sorry about my 'horrible' life. I just want them to be able to relate. So few songs/bands achieve that now-a-days. It's all radio friendly pop that holds no meaning or honesty, just a beat and quick lyrics that rhyme. So maybe someone will find beauty in my words." Originally Inoar's songs were all poems and in most occasions didn't last more than a minute in recording. Inoar sings about his father, lost love(s), wishful things and anything self diagnosed. Starting out in 2000 Rigel Minor(Inoar) received his first guitar from his deadbeat father for Christmas. After trying for weeks on end to get back in touch with his father he took a different approach and began writing songs for his father but they were never heard. Songs contained lyrics about his anger, resentment and sadness towards his father. They also contained lyrics about his troubled childhood and self-created situations. later that year leading in to 2001 Rigel produced a eight track CD titled 'Jerk!' on a friends karaoke machine in his bathroom and were handed out to friends but not to family. "Ha, I didn't think they'd be ready for what was on that CD. I wasn't even ready for it." After realizing failure in the production of his first album at age twelve Rigel was even more furious, pushing himself to try harder. In 2003 he put out another album titled 'My Fat ass Neighbor' which only showed his anger on a higher scale. Songs still contained lyrics about his father, life and self-created themes but were more experimental in expressing his emotions. "I was experimenting with a lot of stuff personal and non. I think I spent a good year on lyrics for that CD and half the time I didn't even know where I was or what I was writing about. It was probably this CD and on that I started getting more involved in poetry and writing songs in 3rd person so no one knew they were actually about me." One song titled 'The SON Is Dead' described graphic themes about suicide of the 'son' in a very non-chillant manner, ending the song with a very boyish giggle. "It was actually funny because friends who liked the song thought it was about the "sun" and not a "son". When I finally told them they were actually shocked because both version made sense to them. It's like one of those pictures of a witch and when you flip it, it looks like a prince." But once again his music never caught on and his father never heard it. Beyond infuriated Rigel wrote 22 songs within the next year and put them on yet another CD titled 'A Stain On My Wall Of Memories' which was finished in 2004. Backed by anger, pain, blood, sweat and tears and once again writing about the same situations and some new ones, Rigel took a new approach to his music adding keyboard, violin, harmonica, ukulele and bass. " I wanted the songs to sound more full. Through out the years friends started handing me random instruments to push my musical career. So, I put them to good use. A lot of my friends hated my sound but couldn't say it. Then I had friends who hated it and never stopped talking about it. But that was good because they liked to tell me why my sound sucked and it made me work on those problems to prove them wrong." The upcoming and newest self produced album titled "Moon and Stars" is entirely fueled by Inoar's frustration with the world and his recent falling out with a girl. Every song contains metaphors and cut throat ideas about his ex and father and has no set release date.

"We all admire the spangled acrobat with classical grace meticulously walking his tight rope in the talcum light; but how much rarer art there is in the sagging rope expert wearing scarecrow clothes and impersonating a grotesque drunk! I should know." (Vladimir Nabokov)
