Started in 2006 and currently part of the netaudio scene, abyssal plains is a musical project, specialising in downtempo electronica.

The music is often tagged as ambient or IDM. Though while having elements of these styles, doesn't fit these sub-genres genre exactly, so I refer to it simply as Electronica . Ranging from atmospheric textures combined with subtle melodies to more beat-driven pieces.
