Accidental President are a Ska Punk Rock Band based in Leicester, UK. Back in 2001 the band were just a 3 piece punk rock band playing for fun. As time went by and they started to write more songs and play more gigs, they have developed into the "Hard Hitting blend of Punk and Ska" they are today, as described by the Punkscene.
With powerful guitar riffs, sharp ska tones and dirty vocals provided by Stef Ashwell and Matt Williamson, bouncy walking baselines from Tom Foyster and Alex Fox with the beats keeping it all together, Accidental President are one of Leicester's best Ska Punk bands, being referred to recently as "Ska without the Daa".
To date the band has produced 3 CD recordings. The first named "Too Ugly to be a Pop Punk Band" (TUTBAPPB) way back in 2003 when the band looked and sounded very different - and as such is now no longer available. The second and most successful to date is the 2005 release "I Don't Need This" featuring 4 songs from just after their transition to the Ska Punk genre. "Who Cares, It's Live" is the latest offering, a live recording from 2006 featuring a 7 song set. Both "I Don't Need This" and "Who Cares, It's Live" are available from their website: www.accidental-president.co.uk
Since the release of "I Don't Need This", they have secured support slots with bands such as "Fandangle", "The Fight", "Whitmore" and "Howards Alias". The band has also been noticed by "The Punk Scene" website, "Demon FM" and "A bloke from Nottingham Evening Post".
During the summer of 2006 the band were featured on Radio 1's Lock Up show, making it to the final 5 of their Battle of the Bands competition.
At the time of writing the band are preparing to go into the studio for the third time, this time to record their debut album. Be prepared for more in-your-face ska punk rock in the near future!

I really enjoyed listening to your music. Each song is different but it's consistent and easily recognizable along with having the perfect blend of ska and punk. This is great stuff!
