If I had more skill in what I'm attempting, I wouldn't need so much courage

Ladies and Gentlemen...

This blog is one of the more difficult we've had to write as members of A City Heart...

We've come so far as a band in just one short year. It's been amazing, really. To have an EP released and sold on iTunes was big enough, but to get attention from blogs, MtvU, and Absolutepunk.net are all way more than we had imagined for this project.

However, A City Heart is about to switch gears in a big way. Recently, Dustin has been making plans for this summer and beyond, and unfortunately for ACH, the time constraints of multiple jobs and other activities have left him with little to no time to devote to the band. As such, Dustin is stepping down as lead vocalist for A City Heart, leaving Kris as the sole recording member of the band. He'll be taking on vocalist duties as well as reprising his role as programmer/instrumentalist.

To make this very clear to everyone, there is absolutely no bad blood or creative differences involved this situation- it's simply a case of life getting in the way of art (as it tends to do.) If all goes well, Dustin will still be a part of the creative process, serving as a consultant of sorts, but chances are, you won't be hearing much of him on our next release. He is, however, planning on taking the final weeks of the summer and devoting them to mixing the result of Kris' efforts.

Dear friends,

Over the past year-and-a-half Kris and I have watched A City Heart become something completely beyond us; something we couldn't have dreamt up in two lifetimes. There have been endless kind words directed at us and nothing but support from you all. Over the next year or so there will be a wealth of changes happening in my life. I will be busier than I can fathom and I have many people and things that I feel better deserve my attention and time--I have to follow my instincts. For these reasons, I am stepping away from A City Heart out of respect for Kris. It has been a truly humbling ride and I can honestly say I'm not nervous for Kris in the least--he's a very talented musician and will have no trouble carrying ACH on. Thank you all so very much and thanks especially to Kris for the good times! Hopefully they continue on in other ways.
