The Modern Day Beatnik and all the world's words

So I began typing the adaptation to my little project, "The Modern Day Beatnik". I would like to get some guest writers and poets to contribute to the creation. Unfortunately I'm facing a long winded project that might last a while before it is finished, although it would be an accomplishment worth enjoying once achieved.

Also, I had an odd week. I normally like to see progress in people but unfortunately that did not happen with my buddy from Harker Heights. Oh well, life goes on.
At work, or the forceful slave drive to achieve nothing, I spent days wondering why we had to rearrange displays. I asked the boss and she said it was good for business, but in all actually, I think its just to give us something to do. I cant see why any idiot would just randomly walk by and say, "Holy hell, this entire place is rearranged, lets buy new shit!"
Oh well.

Nikon has a compact professional camera coming out called the D700. The only reason why I want this camera is because it has a full 35mm frame. I was saving for a d3 or something but I think by the time I round up enough cash, the D700 would go down in price. I still fine with my D50 and D70s. I might actually buy the D200 instead of borrow. But the D700 just seems a little more bad ass.

An Indi Operating System.

As we know it, the world is becoming a computer-geek place to live. With people raging over Mac trends and Microsoft products, you would never guess that the upcoming generation is more tech-savvy than the last. I've played around with video on Mac before, and not to mention, my old school only used them. I have used XP and Vista and used some video apps on them. Kudos to the steves for their OSes. But know I'm using Ubuntu, I know its odd, an independent film maker using a developers OS, but theres a lot in this FOSS package.

Color Management was the first thing I had to work on, I use little CMS and downloaded the icc profiles from Adobe. I got it to work real fast.

Video edtiting in HD was my next step, I use Kdenlive, blender, and Cinelerra side by side. Pitivi is used for minor edits. I had to learn to use cinelerra, the interface is a turnoff, but the power behind is is pretty good.

Image editing was the next hump. At first I was warming up to the gimp, but I need something higher than just 8bit editor. So know I use Krita, Cinepaint and UFRaw to handle images, I had to get some extra plugins for gimp to get it where I wanted. But hopefully GEGL will improve the in development software.

Audio in Ubuntu was easy, I just opened the Ubuntu studio software package for music.

Im going to be playing around with this OS longer, Im warming up to it little by little.

The next full feature

The short film is in its pre-writing phase, which is a 10 minute expression on assholes. Yes, assholes as in people that are cruel for no purpose, it was inspired by a co-worker that enjoys to push peoples buttons and thinks its funny. I'm using the Karma theme in this one, not original, but the cinematography will be a little different.

The full feature is in the draft stage, I'm not spoiling the plot, but its going to be an idealistic film for directors of photography, cinematography, and musicians. I'm trying to get some underground artist to preform music and star in cameos for the film.

Other than that, Im eating a Sonic bacon cheese burger.

Muhahaahaahaahaa! (evil laugh. Unessissary? yes.)

Today as I went to the breeding grounds of savvy shoppers, I saw another hybrid car and can't help but to realize that as Americans we are a little eco-stupid. Remembering place I've been to I can't help but to remember how small the towns and cities were. Its as if they built their cities to help the future. Small housing, close by plazas, and tiny and high MPG cars. I try to be green conscious by using my small, but old Mazda and my purchase of a Suzuki motorbike. Imagine a place completely built to make living covieniant and cheaper on gas. But then again the prices have always been higher for fuel in those countries than here in America. Especially Texas, with out unnecessary love for gorging like pigs. I remember going to Houston and traveling to a little place called Katy. The people there are suburban Red-necks. The average katy kid drives a gigantic truck for no reason. I guess I could see if you drove a big truck and NEEDED it, but if you live in a area paraded by houses and tennis-playing moms (my prime-choice) then there really is no reason to have a resourcing sucking truck. Now that I think about it, a lot of global preservation is common sense.

Long time, Blind Shot

The first order of business was that virb is still underground so I kinda treated it like a cheap prostitute, the kind no one pays much attention to, besides those in desperate need. I use blogger and a lot of other odd blogging sites to post blogs but none gave me the fullest customization options, so I'm sticking with virb. Ive started my job as a waiter recently, but it had to be the worst time to do it. I'm sick with the cold, and unfortunately people that know me know that I loose my voice when I get sick, so my first day was hell in Bennigans. From my point of view I sounded stupid infront of customers. I struggled to project what I wanted to say and got average tips on my tables. Bad timing was having blast with my worst first day. I delayed my rendezvous with my friends because of how crappy I sounded. Today I can't even speak, I had my mom call in for me because I couldn't speak a word. Oh well, life is a bitch. I spent my Sunday watching movies like I am Legend and Snatch. I sat there in pain watching them seeing how Snatch is hilarious and laughing hurts my throat. Jeez what a lame weekend.

UNDER construction

Well after my off and on experiences with tech-garbage, Ive finally learned some good stuff. I ended my account with Flickr and I am working more on my Virb and Blogger. I haven't been sitting on my culo for the last 2 months either. I got some better photos and plan on posting them soon. I'm also registering for culinary school.

I'll keep you posted as I build my Virb and Blogger Blogs.

About

I am a amateur photographer that likes to publish his opinion on a lot of things. I also write and paint on my free time. I hang out with my friend pat who is also a "Modern day Beatnik" at heart. We always discuss topics and shit when we are bored. I work as a portrait photographer at a studio where I shoot from a wide range from glamor to family. My personal work is based off my own interest and sight.
