During the riots of January 08 when the elections in Kenya were being disputed. This was taken after most non-Luo had been driven out, and most of the structures are charcoal. Unless you've been in this particular part of Kibera, in Soweto District, you probably won't know what you're looking at - or at least what it looked like before. The railway is the most distinct - it was pulled up in order to cut off all supply from the port at Mombasa to it's destination in Uganda. The rest is just charcoal. There was a lockdown at the time when I took this, but I got through most of the roadblocks with the accompaniment of some friends [residents], and only took a small camera in my pocket. The video's poor quality, but I just wanted to have it for remembrance. Barikiwa.
