Long Time, No Blog

Doesn't work suck? No, not the "I do what I love for a living" kind of work; that fucking rules. I'm talking about the "I'm only doing this to pay my goddamn bills" kind of work. Yeah, that kind really blows. That's the kind of job I have whilst I make my way through college, and I hate it. I'm using the word "hate" here, kids. I don't use that word lightly, you know.

Anyhoo...

I got a new laptop (not by choice, but that's a long story) the other day. I'm using it right this very minute, as a matter of fact. It's not the greatest thing in the world, sadly... The battery power is shit (only two measly hours); it's a tad heavy for everyday use; it's a single-core processor; it only has 512 MB of memory... Need I go on? You see how much this sucks, right? I got stuck with this, but I'm going to upgrade it anyway. I only need about 1 GB of memory, and a better battery. It doesn't have much hard drive space either, but that's OK; I'm just using this for writing and schoolwork anyway. Strangely enough, the integrated graphics processor isn't half bad.

OK, well, that's enough blogging for me today. I've got to go get ready, kids; I'm heading out to see "Transformers" here in a bit. Let's hope it doesn't suck, right?

New Vista(s)

I don't have ADD; I'm not easily distracted - normally, anyway. However, I get really bored with operating systems, really fast. I toyed around with Mac OS X for a while (don't ask how), and I loved it; but, it's too much of a hassle to run on, well, let's not go there... Suffice it to say that I'll be buying an Apple computer of some type, someday. The point is, I got sick of plain-Jane XP, and wanted something with a little more jazz. Vista seemed to be what I needed, but a lot of people seem to think it isn't worth upgrading to it just yet.

Well, I'm here to set the record straight, folks: they're pretty much right. Vista sure is snazzier, but that's about it. So far, I haven't really seen any big difference (that isn't UI-based) between this and XP. But, I don't feel like I shot myself in the foot. My limited time with Vista has thus far been glitch-free (and, from what I've read, others report is is pretty damn stable). That's enough to make it a damn good decision for me.

Blah blah blah... I just go on and on, don't I?

Final Profile Layout (Seriously)

I really, really like this new layout. It took a bit of work to get it to this point (well, not much, really), but it's finally looking pretty cool. Well, I think it looks cool. I could care less if anybody else likes it. Actually, that's a lie - I hope every motherfucker from here to goddamn Paraguay falls in love with my layout. That won't happen; but it's OK to dream, right?

I might change the background picture a bit, because it looks a little weak at the moment. I'll probably leave it as-is for now, though. I'll worry about changing it, uh, later. Right this minute, I'm in greater need of something new to read. I go through books far too quickly. I guess I'll just have to write one (again)...

More Layout Work

So, I got tired of my profile's design and layout, so I decided to change it. What you see now is only the beginning. I'd do more tonight, but I'm a bit on the tired side. I'll continue working on it when I get off from work tomorrow night. I promise that it'll kick lots of ass.

Road Trippin' ~ Family Greetin'

Our family's annual reunion is tomorrow at the Carnifix Ferry park (state park, regular park, whatever), and I can't wait. Last year's reunion was kind of a bust; even so, I'm really looking forward to this year's reunion.

Why?

Well, many folks that were supposed to show up last year never came. This year, they're all confirmed (as in, they got their fucking asses into the state already).

SWWWEEEEEEET!

I'm taking my camera, iPod, and PSP along for the ride - the former for (hopefully) great photo opportunities, and the latter two for entertainment on the ride of the up there (I don't have to drive, thank Buddha).

Blah. That's enough writing for now. I'll post an update on the reunion, along with pics (probably uploaded to Flickr) sometime tomorrow night.

Satisfaction

I like. I likey likey like like. Squee!

I finally settled (for now) on a look for my profile, and I can honestly say I'm happy. It pretty much looks like "me," so to speak. No, it isn't blue because I'm blue on the inside, or depressed, or some similar emo shit; rather, it's blue because I like the frickin' color. And, hey, it's pretty mellow. I like to think I'm pretty damn mellow these days. Oh sure, I wasn't back in my high school days; but then, only stoners are mellow during those chaotic, formative years.

I'm sure I'll change my profile sooner or later. Hopefully, I'll be content with it long enough for it to be "later" rather than "sooner."

OK, that's enough gabbin'. I'm off to play some more Guitar Hero II on my 360. See you kids later!

New Virb Blog, Header

I'm not satisfied with my header image, nor Blogger's integration with Virb (it takes far too long for blogs posted there to show up here, and they don't always look right). So, I'm going to start using the blog system built into Virb. It looks good enough for my purposes (I just hope that I can eventually customize it's look, just like my profile). Next, I'm gonna make up a better header image. I'll probably go out and take some new pics today, and use one of those for my header. The rest, well, I'll probably upload those to Flickr.
