Celebrities are the corner stone of what makes America great. They are prime examples of how you can drop out of high school, and still manage to make millions of dollars a year. However, a disturbing trend of celebrity DUI charges have begun to spring up everywhere. Celebrities such as, Mickey Rourke, Thomas Jane, Lindsay Lohan, and even wrestling star Kurt Angle have fallen victim to this string of attacks on American treasures. So why would people want to do something so hateful, so anti-American, as give a celebrity a DUI?
Lets us take a moment to reflect on how the rest of the world views this horrible act.
A small Kenyan boy, with no home, starving, and having to work in the fields happens to catch a glimpse of a Britney Spears music video. Just imagine the swelling of hope that occurs in his heart as he says to himself,"Wow, she came from a poor, white trash family, and now she lives in a mansion, drives expensive cars, and she isn’t even talented. America is the greatest country ever." There, isn’t it clear, or are you to busy defacing portraits of Abe Lincoln, and JFK to realize that celebrities help to improve the world’s opinion of our country. They play a vital role, not just films, but in American foreign policy as well.
Now lets say the same small Kenyan boy sees the same video of Britney Spears, but then discovers on the E! channel that she has had a DUI. Now imagine the depression that now fills his heart as the person that once gave him hope now has a criminal charge. Soon, depression will turn into anger toward our nation, for bringing false hope to the world. And before he is even old enough to drive, that little boy becomes a suicide bomber.
Giving celebrities DUI’s not only hurts the fans of their films, but it also breads terrorism. Lets us now, at this moment, put down our citation pads, join hand in hand, and commit our selves to no longer treating celebrities like regular people, but like the national treasures they really are.
