Adam Lygo is an experimental musician from England.
Adam Lygo utilises layered guitar loops to explore rhythm, texture and dynamics applied to a variety of themed albums, from the surreal philosophy of ants to the inner workings of imagined machines, the emotional turmoil of opium addiction to a Jungian journey into the minds maze.
The music is recorded as improvised pieces, the intention is to push guitar music in the direction of the lap top whilst maintaining the performance aspect of live music.
Adam Lygo also creates all of the artwork for his CD's in order to maintain a continuity with each albums concept.
The artwork is developed over the same period as the albums recording and editing processes with equal importance being given to the audio and visual aspects of each project.
Since 1999 Adam Lygo has self released eighteen solo albums on his own HIVEMUSIC label as well as an EP.
and double CD with Paul Morgan (The Slightly Off Kilter Label) & a single on Slough Noize (197).
Inspired more by visual aesthetics (film, painting etc.) rather than other musicians, Adam Lygo has created music for a contemporary dance company, worked in collaboration with a screen print artist and often uses film as part of live performances, creating an improvised soundtrack rather than simply using film as a backdrop.
Adam Lygo has also provided incidental music for a late night radio station.

Hi
Thanks for the invite. "Ants" reminds of a cross between BobFripp and Kronos Quartet - Black Angels.
Very nice ;)
