hello.
i am an independent creature in a happy partnership.
i live to be in the mountains (or at least in the woods) and wish i could travel more.
i am an artist, although i don't paint very often.
i love people, but sometimes i cannot be around them. i have a high need for privacy. at my worst times, i feel that i could successfully become a hermit. at my best i can charm a crowd.
i went to college for fine art but became a non-profit foot soldier. i currently work as a case manager for people living with HIV/AIDS. i used to work with the severely and persistently mentally ill.
i love my job. no really. i feel humbled every day.
i am not the kind of person who is comfortable in large groups of people i do not know. i meet people best (and am most myself) in small groups.
i despise shopping malls.
i am a feminist. i think the united states needs to get over itself and the government needs to start caring about what its citizens say.
i think the most important voices are the ones that you don't hear.
i am a vegetarian. i should be a vegan because my cholesterol is not so good, but dammit, i'm not capable. i love to cook, but mostly i love to eat.
i am very sensitive and get stressed out easily.
i often swear at inappropriate times.
i feel that people misunderstand me often...or maybe i misrepresent myself often???
i think about things a lot.
i have two cats, a dog, and a garden; all of which nuture me every day.

We mostly hike local. She's an older dog so after a few miles the back leg starts to give out. Once in awhile we've gone North to the White mountains, never been to the Adirondacks though.
