Their music is fascinating, carrying the breathtaking beauty of an antarctic sunrise.
a hundred times beloved include Felix Neumann and Christian "Pacult" Winklhofer. These two guys from Regensburg/Bavaria have devoted themselves completely to the sound of pop and electronica.
a hundred times beloved was founded in 2003, then only consisting of one single member, Felix. Meanwhile he was joined by Pacult, who plays the bass, keyboards and guitar and who is also part of the new consortium of Regensburg by working with the project Spruce. Felix does the vocals and programming, but during the shows they both enjoy changing instruments with each other, which means that Neumann also plays keyboard and guitar.
Last year´s self-titled EP, released by Alison Records in spring 2006, was the follow-up record to two CDs which had been put out and distributed by Felix himself. Since then, a hundred times beloved have evolved from an experimental to a more melody-orientated sound.
Therefore they might be compared a bit with acts like Sigúr Ros, Mogwai, Finn and the music scene of Weilheim, home of The Notwist.
On their latest album antarctic sunrise the band impresses us again, showing their development to a much stronger songwriting. Not that reserved anymore, a hundred times beloved now wants to have more attraction and more accent on the beat. You can hear bursting glaciers, a clear voice coming through arctic air. But there is also a development of the band´s line-up, as they will have additional live musicians for forthcoming shows. a hundred times beloved say: we want more. More sound. More vision.
