EXTRACTS FROM LA DEPECHE DU MIDI (15 november 2007) - ARTICLE BY ALINE RAYNAL "The band's name « Akkadia » comes from the Akkad Empire, 2000 years before J-C. "Because the Akkadian language was one of the first languages on Earth, and we also wanted to talk about music as an original and universal language." These 3 friends from Toulouse (France) [...] decided to play together some months ago. Arthur, drummer, was trained at the Music Academy in Blagnac, he is studying medecine. Lionel, bassist, is a self-taught person, and also student at the school "L'école des Gobelins" in Paris (related to Cinema). Léo, guitarist, pianist and singer, is a self-taught person too. He is a student in LEA (applied foreign languages) as an objectif to work in international relations. The trio has worked well and recorded an album in professionnal conditions in a studio in Albi (1h from Toulouse)[...] Duplicated in 500 cds for the moment, this album will be used to make them be heard. Draw A Life contains 16 tracks sounding pop rock with many infliences (slavonic and celtic), 1 of the songs is in russian (Chouvstvo). Léo says "I talk about intimate emotions but I guess also universal emotions". A 12 pages booklet goes with the CD. Akkadia will give some concerts soon. While waiting for dates, the band is already preparing a second album. As the members don't live in the same area and have studies, they have their rehearsals during the week end.
