it is interesting to think about life and lives and the way they intersect and affect and mold and change and twist and evolve and modify. and the complex inner-workings of a person are so difficult to understand that their intentions are more often than not misunderstood. because people are kings of their own kingdom. they create their own opinions, standards, rules. but kingdoms inevitably intersect. work. home. men. women. and since there cannot be two kings in one kingdom, wars occur. how can i expect to find peace with another if i cannot yield myself? work, family, a relationship, friendships - they require a bold determination to disreguard one's own concern for themself and adapt to the kingdom of another. and yet i am always amazed when people don't get along. how simple a concept. how complex a dilemma. and it's the essential paradox. i am a king. this is my kingdom. i will defend it till death. or kill others who try to take it from me. and as a result, i am left alone - a king and a kingdom. somewhere, somehow, there must be a yielding.
