February End: I want to live in a quiet town...

So, there was the weekend. I got back yesterday, hung out for a few hours and ate too much, then went out to a concert. The concert would have been pretty boring and par for the course if we hadn't gotten completely drenched in the process! It was kinda nuts, we managed to have to walk from the train station to the venue at the exact time that it was pissing down with rain. And when I say "pissing down", I don't mean in that Supernatural "it actually turns up on camera" kind of way. I mean... someone got a knife and tore open the storm clouds. Buckets of water, pouring onto the streets of Newtown and we pretty much got drenched to within an inch of our lives. I was wearing leggings and a cardigan-weight cotton dress and I only just missed my underwear getting wet because of the rain. My back was okay, and the backs of my thighs, but the rest of me was drenched. I looked like a drowned rat, it was ridiculous.

I was pretty much dry by the time Whitley got on stage, and seriously... he does amazingly better when it's his own gig and he's feeling appreciated. I really enjoyed last night's gig, he was into it and we were into it and it was generally pretty awesome. Minus the part where I got told to sit on my seat instead of stand on it when there is no way I could have seen over anyone's head from where I was sitting. And we were up the back and my standing up didn't actually harm anyone's view! So what if the chair was about to break?

As you can see, the videos and pictures weren't amazing, but the gig was great. Not only did we get rained on - which could hardly be called part of our GENIUS plan - we managed to have a really good gig with Whitley. Also, Whitley is definitely an artist ANY OF YOU AMERICANS should definitely see, coming to a city near you! He's amazing, and HERE is my library of YouTubes (mostly his Hyperballad cover, but check his other stuff, he is great THE END). Definitely, if you have $15 + transport fare to spare, CHECK HIM OUT. Say an Aussie sent you, say someone from Sydney sent you... hell, say someone from Sidewalk Promotions sent you, I'm sure he'd love it. You know you wanna talk to cute Aussie indie kids!

Anyway, enough pimping. I have spent my evening crying and pontificating about Life The Universe and Everything (as well as #42) this evening, and now it's nearly a quarter past my bedtime so I am going to SLEEP. Have a good night, all! Catch you on the flipside...
