Angela L. Lindsay
"Angela Lindsay's voice gently caresses your ears before pinning you to the wall with its' intensity. When she sings and plays she takes you to that special place, and all you want to do is go along with her for the ride." -- Colleen Louis/Nashville Muse
"Angela Lindsay is not only tops on my personal collection play list but on my daughter's as well. She writes songs that arch across age groups and connect us all." -- George Pierre/Sing-Write Magazine
Angela is known for her jazzy soulful style, which is a blend of blues, rock, and jazz. Influenced by Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and Donny Hathaway, Angela's voice has been likened to Etta James, with a contemporary comparison to Sarah McLachlan and Roberta Flack. The result is music that is smooth and gritty, honest and moving. Angela has performed all over the United States as a solo and ensemble performer and her original compositions have received radio and television airplay. Songwriter Magazine stated "songwriter Angela Lindsay paints pictures with her words; she writes about the things we all feel, but have difficulty expressing in words".
Angela was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. During her high school years, her family moved to Seattle and then to California, where Angela began her professional career as a Licensed Educational Psychologist and school counselor. Although always passionate about music, Angela didn't begin writing songs and playing professionally until she moved back to the East Coast. Since making Savannah her home eight years ago, Angela has performed for corporate and private functions and in regional dinner clubs, including Savannah Station, Hannah's East, Fusion/Monkey Bar, Suzabelle's, Creole Red's, the Westin Hotel, the Mansion on Forsyth, and the Jazz Corner in Hilton Head.
Together with her band ZaZoo, Angela collaborated with an enthusiastic group of children, parents, teachers, and volunteer mentors at a Savannah public elementary school to create a children's self-empowerment CD, "This Was In My Head", released last May. They shared a live stage performance of "This Was In My Head" with 1,500 children at the Savannah Music Festival in March 2006. Angela Lindsay is enjoying a life long career doing what she loves most: writing, performing and sharing her music with audiences around the country. "Strong lyrics and a singer who knows how to deliver them..." MusicMaker Magazine.
