About

Let's skip the long-winded intro and comical solicitation. We are five best friends that have grown up together in the Bronx and started a band because we love music--a lot. Our main goal is that we connect with you as people and for you to take away something meaningful and worthwhile from the end-result. So, for those still interested in who we are and how we started, here's our story as told by me, Alex.

This band means the world to each of us for very different reasons (we all dealt with struggles that influenced us as individuals and musicians--moving across the globe, losing people we love, being far from our families, and just the challenge of growing up in itself). One reason we do share is that A Moment's Worth is an expression of our lives and a 12 year friendship. We're all 22-23-years-old.

Anthony, Frank, and I have been best friends since 5th grade. We started the band with Chris, our former bassist and best friend, when we were 16 with no formal training. Though we sounded like amateurs, something truly special happened the first time we hit the stage--we had the time of our lives and knew we had found our passion. So we practiced as much as we could, inspired by the raw energy of bands such as Goldfinger, Green Day, and NOFX, at first using garbage cans for drums and 10-watt combo amps. With time, our out-of-tune-feedback-chord-banging developed into our first album, "Ironic Last Words" which we released in 2004. We played every show we could get our hands on--from Sweet-Sixteen's, to benefit shows at local hospitals and universities, to shows at legendary venues such as CBGB's and The Knitting Factory, and always with our hometown scene, The Bronx Underground. We sold over 3,000 copies of our CDs from these shows and it honestly shocked us. We knew we were on our way.

Aside from the financial burden of being an independent band and paying for everything out of pocket, we have hit a couple more roadblocks along that way. Thousands of dollars in equipment were robbed from us one night, the local music scenes were changing to hardcore, and by far the most devastating: Chris left the band in 2005 for professional reasons. We thought we were done (read: we cried). Then, as if by the hand of fate, our best friend Johnny came to save the day and said, "Dude, I'll play bass on a rubber band every night, so long as you guys don't break up!" So, we beat on, boats against the current--Johnny played bass, though fortunately not on a rubber band and shortly after, Nicola, our best friend/producer-engineer/fixer of all things imaginable solidified our current line up. Together, we wrote, recorded, and released our newest, self-titled full-length--a matured continuation of our story.

In short, we are A Moment's Worth. We play rock and pop-punk and whatever else we want to throw in a song. We don't claim to be anything but ourselves. We are, however, real people who pour every ounce of our hearts and souls into our songs, in hopes that you will take our music and make it your own.
