Alternate Modes Of Underwater Consciousness

Alternate Modes Of Underwater Consciousness is everything-but-the-kitchen-sink electronica coming from the slightly unstable mind of a New England computer geek and his imaginary Jewish friend.

AMUC just recently completed the 2007 RPM Challenge (www.rpmchallenge.com), and Well Of Thoughts is the resulting album that rose from that particular effort.

While AMUC would love to play live shows, sadly the electric cord to Lunarsight's computer does not reach far enough for him to leave his apartment. Furthermore, his invisible Jewish friend has a lot of invisible Jewish enemies, which makes it fairly dangerous for him to be (un)seen in public.

AMUC: Dead In The Water - seven minute title track

I just uploaded the title track from AMUC's new album, entitled Dead In The Water. It's over seven minutes long, and available for free download.

As I finish mastering the other tracks from the album, I'll be posting them here. (Once the whole album is fully mastered, I plan to post it to both Last FM and Jamendo as well.)

Overall, I'm happy with the results here. It's an interesting combination of ambient, electronica, and it even teases a bit of a loud rock vibe here and there.

You can help me out by downloading the track, and keeping an ear out for any 'weird' noise. (The noise that doesn't sound like it's intentionally supposed to be there.) I think I caught most of it, but you begin to get a little desensitized to it all after listening to the same #?%! song four dozen times in one day.

Just posted a new song : Don't Let Her Go.

I posted another track from the Well Of Thoughts album. It's called "Don't Let Her Go." The name actually comes from a dream I had. It's one of those sound-only dreams you get as you're coming out of sleep. The title of song was said at the very end of the dream, just as I was waking up. (No idea who the 'her' is - dreams don't always explain stuff like that.)

Just to get copyright stuff out of the way:

I used one sample from Freesound (http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/):

Internet Radio is screwed by a new ruling - sign this petition!

This is the RIAA's latest attempt to stifle any media that they can't control. A new ruling by the Copyright Royalty Board is now charging internet radio stations per song they play, rather than a fixed fee for a designated time period. This adds up to more than 100% of the total income for many online radio stations.

Go here to sign the petition: http://www.saveourinternetradio.com/2007/03/05/mad-as-hell-about-the-threat-to-internet-radio/

The Continental Version:

I've uploaded one of the best tracks from Well Of Thoughts, and plan to upload more when I have a chance. (Irving Finkelstein is currently formatting some of the other tracks for upload.)

Oops - wait - this is supposed to be longer than the blog post excerpt, right?

Okay - I just need to think of something else to say.

Hm - what else can I ramble on about?

Darn it - this is tough.

Irving is much better at typing nonsense than I am. Unfortunately, he's feeling a little under the weather right now. I never knew imaginary people could get flesh-eating viruses. I don't think they have health insurance for fictitious people either, which really sucks. Irving feels that this is discriminatory - the mere fact he's a non-real entity doesn't mean he should be held down by the man because of it.
