My 2003 iBook is saying goodbye. Its 40 gb harddrive is crippled from the weight of music and movies that I try so hard to remember to move to my external. And its processor strains to handle even the Macromedia MX programs installed on it. I can't use the left shift key nor the right arrow. And it has this funky smell emanating from the keyboard that has been identified by disgusted friends as either sweaty feet or wet mittens. It locks up when I open two programs simultaneously, and if there's Flash on a page, well, just give her some time. She's served me well, but she's hardly kept up with the times.

It's time to say goodbye. But what then, will I do when I need to work on the road? How will I take anything with me or answer emails from an outdoor table at Ceviche on a Tuesday afternoon?

Can anyone buy me a new MacBook??
