A relatively short time ago, in a bedroom at least ten minutes drive away, something farfetched went on. In the beginning were numerous bands called Writers Revenge, The Act Band, The AM Band, The AM Blues Band and yet another band with Andrew Mitchell's initials in it. Yes Andy liked to maintain the truth behind the collective noun of vocal performers "an ego of singers". In the Nineties his ill considered decision to dangerously mix pseudo satire and music gave rise to "Comedy without the humour" which included up to the minute political comment on Neville Chamberlain's peace in our time policy and David Owen singing "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to".
I'm pretty, I'm mindless I'm an A&R Man's dream
I'm four months old and I really can sing!
I can't dance, but I'm quite slim
I'm larey pretty and my legs are thin
She's Mindless (So much for girl power)
I'm dicey spicy, very pricey
I say Ma na ma na No brain No brain
I never ever ever should have sung this song
but Cerebral Celery just sounds so good to me
[Lyrics taken from "Mindless" by Mistake the influential song written in 1997 featured in D-roid portrait of a serial singer that accurately foretold the inevitable demise of manufactured pop groups.]
These immortal words were the beginning of Andy co-opting the services of the Other One when he created an alter ego called D-roid who went on to star in his own hilarious satire on the music industry "D-roid portrait of a serial singer." So accurate was the depiction of murderous dumbosyllabic vocalists and dastardly money obsessed nerdy science guys that no one realised it was actually satire. Dumped by his alter ego Andy chose to work with other musicians, any musicians in fact hence they collectively came to be known as the Other one. Basically after all this nausea which hopefully abrogates the author from listing a tedious list of credits. Jamiraquoi, Tricky, Beverly Knight, Natalie Cole, Madonna and Roy Ayers are just some of the artists who have asked "Andy Who?" Although they have occasionally employed some of the same musicians as him. Right that's as much self-congratulation as this web site's allowed. Follow the adventures of Andy and all his friend by regularly clicking on this web site with his up to the monthly diary. Listen to tracks that may occasionally change when he can be bothered to provide some alternative material from that which is currently available. There may even some dates listed where you can actually get to see The Other One, oh and Andy as well I suppose...
