I set out on the trail of recording my own album. With much support from others, I started out. With a book of songs, a few demos already on disk and a whole load of time without work I began to learn a lot about the songs, their deficiencies and their strong points.

Its all nearly done. Each day brings me to the end of the recording process and the start of the mixing. So many things to do though. So here I am with this collection of songs. What now?

There's so much can be done from the laptop these days. From the recording through the mixing to the releasing and marketing, so why wait for somebody to come along and 'sign' me to their label, for them to then steer me in their direction to their ends with them taking most of what might not be any profits.

But then are any of us in it for the money? So. Self publishing, self distribution. All in one. Doing everything for yourself. There will be mistakes made of course, but that's fine. It will be an experience and one that may just work out.
