So live music is what its about. I keep reading this. And indeed, everytime I go to a gig, it inspires me to do more. It makes me want to perform as well. But is it as easy as all that? The number of singer songwriters gigging in London on any on night must be enough to put anyone off. I mean, what do I have that they don't? Would I book me? On my public showing ie the tunes on my site and myspace, maybe not.
So the answer might be to have an acoustic demo CD, or a few tracks on the web, of all the tunes you want to put on your album, but in the form people are going to hear if they book you for a gig. But then what is the point? Do gig-goers not turn up to gigs to hear a different version to the one they can sit at home and listen to on their laptops? I do. And if you need one to get a gig, then where do you do the gig to do the recordings? 'Live in the studio' gigs never have the same feel as a gig with an audience.
To plough on in the same furrow is the direction. However if anyone is reading this, big shot I know, that runs a night in London, or anywhere in the south east, or anywhere in fact and wants to give a gig to a Geordie with a bag of songs, then give me a shout.
