There is a sleepy town on the Pennsylvania border
named after a river that you've never heard of.
Where the broken sidewalk ends at the old, overgrown rail yard,
And the back roads still wind their way past Iroquois oil.
Where there was one tree on our property
that I never climbed. Last time I drove by
it called out to me.
In the valley below the evergreen glow
you left the last of who you are at Slinky's roadside bar.
She's paid to smile, you know.
She's trained to smile and look right through you.
But she picked you when she wanted to be taken home.
Where there was one tree on our property
that I never climbed. Last time drove by
it called out to me.
Now that I know I've closed my eyes too often
I'm looking back to find a reason
And see as much as I can see.
See as much as I can see.
There is a sleepy town on the Pennsylvania border
at a crossroads with itself and its sleepy daughter.
Where there was one tree on our property
that I never climbed. Last time I drove by it called out to me.
