Ascender Descender is the outcome of many years of punk, hardcore, and post-hardcore bands. The project was a chance to create a more introspective sound without constraints of a dogmatic genre. Ryan Wasterlain is also currently the guitarist for Permanent Black as well as the graphic designer behind Labor Intensive Design.
