Atlantic Line humbly began as Loves Like Smoke with two members, Ray Silva and Vincent "Beanz" Medina, and a couple acoustic guitars in Los Angeles, CA. Their early rehearsals, however, made it clear that in order for them to play the music they wanted, they were going to need electricity and a full band. The two refugees from defunct Bullet for Dali met musician William Oraha, a veteran of the L.A. music scene, and the band, and its core group of primary songwriters was officially created. The band has since evolved into Atlantic Line, a solid 5-piece lineup with second guitarist, Jonathan Correa, and drummer, Noah Alexander. Their music is very much an homage to their heroes, which is evident in Silva's airy, resonant vocals, Oraha's aggressive, experimental composition, Medina's melodic, low-tone bass, Correa's metal-infused methodical leads, and Alexander's eccentric beats. They each push their respective instruments to the very edge of their sonic capabilities, resulting in a hybrid sound, both blaring and peaceful.

Gagosian Liga, Jan 28, 2009:
"We all admire the spangled acrobat with classical grace meticulously walking his tight rope in the talcum light; but how much rarer art there is in the sagging rope expert wearing scarecrow clothes and impersonating a grotesque drunk! I should know." (Vladimir Nabokov)
