About
Atombender is a group of seven friends from the Ames, IA area who came together to play music.
The band has a hard-hitting punk/ska style but also gets the crowd dancing with melodies coming from the horns and moog. The members put as much energy and joy as they possibly can into playing their music and hope to evoke those same feelings in the crowd.
Atombender is influenced by a huge assortment of bands, anywhere from Five Iron Frenzy to Motion City Soundtrack to Refused. They have drawn comparisons to notable bands in the genre, such as Bomb the Music Industry!, the Hippos, and Less Than Jake.
Atombender has had the privilege of playing across the state, sharing the stage with bands like Children 18:3 (Tooth and Nail Records), The Envy Corps (Vertigo Records), Flatfoot 56 (Flicker Records), Last Tuesday (Mono Vs. Stereo Records), The Poison Control Center (Afternoon Records), Run Kid Run (Tooth and Nail Records), Twelve Gauge Valentine (Solid State Records) and The Wedding (Brave New World Records). They are constantly writing new songs, working to improve, and playing shows. The band hopes to come to your area soon!
