Can't we just have them BOTH?

It is 2 p.m. already. This day seems to be flying by for no particular reason.  I'm not complaining, though, as short work weeks usually meander along. I've been hard at work all morning on a rather in-depth project for Corporate that has my head feeling like it is in knots. And, the rest of my day has been spent dealing with Life Insurance claims and filing and looking up the addresses for some Vital Health Records in Michigan and Arkansas.  At least it has all made time fly.

Joey and I, with Cissy's input, of course, as well as the input of my in-laws, have made our puppy decision - at least in part.  When we get back from Ohio, we will be heading to Potosi, Missouri, to pick up our new little guy. He is a miniature pinscher/Chihuahua mix, and is totally adorable. The only thing we have to do is to decide which one of the two brothers to choose. Bo is a bit bigger and fuzzier, and Luke is smaller, but with a real protective side. We may decide to change their name because Joey wants to pick out a name this time since I named Maggie (her full name is Magatha Penelope Bittick, in case you're wondering - regal, isn't it?). The pups are only 6 weeks old, and aren't supposed to get over 9 or 10 pounds! Thanks to Craigslist yet again for coming through for us. We may be tricking Cissy into thinking we couldn't get the puppy and surprising her, so if you see her……SHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Speaking of dogs, we found a place that is helping us with getting Maggie spayed. As much as we love her, we can do without the potential of little Maglets running around.  It's so wonderful that there are groups around to help defray the costs of such operations for lower income families. We can also get her shots at a discounted rate. She is going to  have a real emotional trauma over the next couple weeks with having to be deserted by us for three days during our trip, then adjusting to a new little brother, and then being denied food and water for a whole night to subsequently go into surgery. But being the demanding princess sort that she is, I am sure she'll manage to get all the attention she desires and then some, especially since Joey will be feeling sorry for her and he's such a dog-softie anyway. I just hope she doesn't eat the doctors. She's not too fond of strangers.

Tonight, it's probably more Six Feet Under and last minute cleaning on the house, and Joey finishing up his packing. I can't believe I'll be in Springfield, Ohio in a couple of days. It's been so long….

…and so I ran…
