With a trademark sound of lush instrumentation, layers of guitars, ambient synths and soaring melodies; their unique blend of dark edgy pop music has a unique ability to grab your attention. Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, The AutoDef is led by visionary songwriter Bradley Boyer. Powerful songs take you from high-energy anthems to dreamy ballads. Upon holding weekly jam sessions in 2008 in a mini studio above local hispter Cafe Coco, Boyer connected with a couple of amazing musicians that understood & dug the sound, and hit the studio. Since joined by singer - actress Kristen Michelle, and Kory Murphy on Synth, the band is now, in 2009, continuing to record material, play live shows, while exploring new sonic territory together.
Writing music without boundaries, AutoDef playfully straddles the lines between Alternative Indie Rock, and Post Punk. Small events that would mean little to the untrained eye, through Boyer’s work are magnified to form a parallel to something greater in all of us. Inspired by larger than life characters from pop artist Andy Warhol to musical deity’s such as Jeff Buckley, and The Cure, AutoDef fully understands the power of iconography in music.
As a singer/songwriter, Boyer’s unique palette morphs to accommodate the atmosphere of the song and numerous music business insiders have sung his praises. In 2000, Bradley was approached by an industry songwriting team who approached him to co-write four songs for an upcoming Goo Goo Dolls project. Boyer turned it down. However, it did introduce him to a slew of licensing opportunities and a number of well respected contacts, which led to on-air interviews, radio airplay and unanimous positive reviews for the independent artist and his already budding career.
Currently hard at work on a full length album, AutoDefs chameleon-like creation of grandiose rock music is both endearing and inspiring. Infusing electronica elements, synthesizers, ambient pads and strings, a refreshing sound is created that captures a specific feel from each individual song. This is a band to clearly hear and see. More to come on the horizon with a new EP and more live shows in 2009.

Dark and Dreamy indie pop tale of the excitement and adventures of being with someone new, while also showing that special someone how to let go of past "ghosts". Acoustic Guitar chugs thru a warm, atmospheric wall of heavy shoegazer guitar, while errie Cello answers the vocals in true ghostly fashion. 1st single Debut from the Nashville based band."
Story Behind the Song:
One warm summer evening, two strange new Friends visit a house for a little evening dinner and drinks, and a new girl, who was very attractive, made it clear that there were spirits in the house. The new friend revealed through several spooky and accurate accounts, that he was a paranormal investigator. (Ghost Hunter). The night became even more strange, with enchanting tales of communication from people from beyond the grave, glowing orbs, voices, and a candle that kept going out on its own - it was clear a song was born from a moving experience with new friends, and new relationships.

"We all admire the spangled acrobat with classical grace meticulously walking his tight rope in the talcum light; but how much rarer art there is in the sagging rope expert wearing scarecrow clothes and impersonating a grotesque drunk! I should know." (Vladimir Nabokov) Thank you for your friendship! Musical greetings from Munich/Germany! Feel free to download my music!
