Drum and Bass DJ/Producer Ryan Conte aka Basek has been a part of the scene since 1999. As a young child he had many musical influences including his father John who was a guitarist/vocalist for many local bands throughout the years including "Beatle Mania". The Beatles, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Zepplin, The Doors, and Zappa are some of the first influences and moving on to stuff like Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, Metallica, and alot of old funk and soul. He got his start on dance music in Connecticut as a party kid mainly diggin on House, Techno, Breaks, and eventually moving to Drum and Bass which undoubtably became his genre of choice. In 2001 he started DJing and never looked back. After spinning local gigs and collaborating with his brother and mentor Shawn aka Furious Styles on an array of Hip Hop projects he decided to put his efforts into Drum and Bass alone. In 2005 he formed a Drum and Bass DJ act called Mental Implants alongside Shawn aka Furious Styles and Radu Mattei aka Razzil and started spinning gigs in the New England area. As for the present he continues to produce quality Drum and Bass and plays live shows throughout New England with Mental Implants. Look for upcoming tunes!!!!
