About Bedouins International

Mission Statement:
Bedouins International delivers modern media intended to inform, entertain, and incite people to action by providing excellence in artistic expression, an increased understanding of global needs, and a means to become involved.

About:
Bedouins International, Inc. is a non-profit organization based in Birmingham, Alabama. Both a design collective and a ministry, it is made up of four members: Stephen DeVries, photography and design, Paul Bryant, video and design, Roger Eason, a writer and musician and Joshua Farneman, design and web design. Bedouins International has two goals: first, to build relationships with ministries and humanitarian organizations around the world, and produce for them the media they need, whether print, film, or online, to reach out much farther than they normally could. The second is to raise awareness and involvement in missions among young people here at home.

The movement was formed after a trip to Reynosa, Mexico by Stephen and Paul. Shocked at both the squalor and the joy they encountered in the outlying canal towns, Stephen returned home to publish a book of his photographs from the trip entitled, "Discovering Joy." The book captures the triumph of the Mexican poor despite their circumstances, and the freedom of a life in Jesus Christ. Released in May 2007 with all proceeds going to the orphanage Casa Hogar Mami in Reynosa, the book inspired a collaborative effort in new media, Bedouins International.

Upcoming Plans:
Summer plans for members of B.I. include China and Mexico, and the next large collaborative project is planned for India, starting December 2007. Stay tuned as we iron out the details, and please keep us in your prayers!
