I'm Benton and I'm a singer-songwriter born and raised in Nashville. I grew up listening to everything on the radio. I'm a sucker for singable melodies and lyrics that go a little deeper. I spent a long time writing songs for other artists. I've had cuts with Point Of Grace, Kathy Troccoli, Natalie Grant, the Martins and lots of others, many under the radar. But these days, I write a lot for myself. My style is piano-centered pop influenced by R&B, jazz and gospel. My faves include the Gabe Dixon Band, Jamie Cullum, Rufus Wainwright, Jon McLaughlin, Dave Barnes, Nichole Nordeman, John Mayer and Bruce Hornsby.
I hope to have my first solo project done by the end of the summer. It's called "Grace & Gravity" and I'll put new songs up as I finish them.

thanks about the instrumentals! I do have some ones with vocals, i'll work on some tonight, get it as best quality as i can at my own house, with a terrible mic, and a free program I downloaded online! haha, surprisingly, doesn't sound too bad (the musical part). thanks for the encouragement though. your songs sound very nicely done and have creative lyrical structures.
