"Started writing songs together in 1997. Never made a distinction between traditional and modern high tech instruments. An acoustic guitar makes a fine sound, a groovebox makes a fine sound. Digital or analog, hi-fi lo-fi, if it suits they'll wear it.

The quartet shares an undying love for good music. A constant diet of fine blues, soul, funk, rock, pop, country, jazz, tripdancecoolwhatever records keep these guys happy. All four write music and lyrics, arrange songs, play different instruments, produce and reduce material,
design graphics and trust each others opinions, so it's a happy band that needs no leader.

Be it intimate man and his guitar blues, kick ass electro rock, danceable doomsday gospel or twanging country pop, Black Audio is not chasing after the current trendy style. They're looking for soul. Style may be important, but the really cool things never aim to be cool. They just are. Blind Willie McTell wasn't trying to act hip, he just did. Black Audio do their thing the same way. They have the cool sounds and the hip t-shirts but that's not what their music is about. There's real depth in this stuff. It's humane and touching, it's silly and serious, it's groovy and it's moody. But it sure is never cold and empty. See, that's the soul of Black Audio, humane warmth."
