There's an expression that says "Elle n'y va pas de main morte" ...It's really hard to explain, but in a veryyy litteral translation it would be something like - She doesn't get to it with a dead hand- ...Basically it means -she doesn't restrain herself when she does something- But there are neither wordplay nor irony when translated, it kinda sounds clumsy in English. DUDE!!! LEARN FRENCH!!!

I found this book of Japanese children's poetry, translated into English. Here is one of my favorites, which I think you will enjoy. FATHER When my father wants to read the paper he says, "Paper, walk to me." When he wants to smoke he says, "Cigarettes, walk to me." Then my mother stands up to bring them to him.
