Finals week is next week! I am studying pretty much the whole day, and I finally gave myself a break in order to write a blog post! YAAAAAA! So, this Friday, as an end of the semester trip, the Kutztown University chapter of National Broadcasting Society is going to New York City to see a live taping and behind the scenes tour of.....the martha stewart show. thats right, martha stewart. Someone from Kutztown University has a relative, who is also a Kutztown alum, that currently works on the show, so they got us free tickets and a backstage tour to see how the production works. Yes, it is the martha stewart show, and yes, its probably going to be extremely boring watching the actual show, but we get to see the inner workings of a nationally viewed television program, so I'm pretty excited. Funny thing though, we have a dress code to sit in the audience of the martha show. We arent supposed to wear excessive amounts of white, instead, bright, cheerful colors. Also, button down shirts or polos are recommended for males. They take their audience very seriously at the martha show. But you know what that means...if they take a shot of the audience, I could be making my first appearance on national television. Oh man, but it will be on the martha stewart show. Wow, thats dissapointing. Anyways....after the show and the tour, we get the rest of the day to walk the city, so I scheduled a tour at an editing facility called Crew Cuts in NYC. They edit commercials, films, and even the previously taped portions of Saturday Night Live! So i'm very excited to visit Crew Cuts to check out what a professional, world-class post-production facility looks like. So, thats my week, studying and going to New York City. And after next week, once finals are over, i hope to be blogging much more often.
