More and more businesses are turning to the internet to sell their product. These businesses have large amounts of users and people wanting easier solutions when purchase that product.
How To Find Available Domain Names

.com and other similar domain names have been available for a very long time now. Unfortunately the number of these website domains have been slowly disintegrating due to the amount that have been already taken. On a happier note there are newer business class domains now available including .tel.

The .tel domain became available to the general public February 3, 2009 which means there are thousands of variations of .tel presently available. The major benefit of a .tel domain is the ability to host personal or corporate information right from the DNS(Domain Name System) which means it can become universally accessible.

What does this mean for you? In contrast from what was said above, this Top Level Domain doesn't provide mapping between domain names and their IP Addresses.

Here are more benefits of buying a .tel domain:

The ability to integrate with all forms of communication such as VOIP, Phone Numbers, and even email.

Complete ownership of Data you publish.

Protection of personal data and the ability to only let people you authorize view that information.

Optimized access to Global devices with increased high speed.

Search engine friendly for search on your mobile device and/or other forms of search.

Essentially the .tel domain is made for anyone who wants to have both an online presence and also a mobile presence. With mobile devices becoming more popular than ever and with companies speeding up mobile internet access it's very important that your company's domain is optimized for both forms.

When you purchase any domain name it's also important to have great quality hosting. That's why I recommend Hostgator.com where you can find great business class hosting for an affordable price. They also have reasonable pricing on some of the best Top Level domains available to the market. I should also mention they have unlimited bandwidth and unlimited diskspace So check out Hostgator if you're interested in keeping hosting costs down.

They are used at home, at work, in schools, and much more for various uses. Today we're going to take a look at a shredder that's very popular and was created by a well respected company.

What Website Statistics Program Should I Use?

Knowing how much traffic your getting, where it's coming from, and how it's coming is crucial to when owning a website. Statistical information can play an important part in how your website is performing and what it can do better. But what website statistics tool should you use? You can use Woopra (which is a website statistic software), Webalizer, and other programs in which you can download or you can use Google Analytics.

Google Analytics is a web based application in which you can track your website stats statistics, search statistics, visitor statistics, and much more. I'll be going over the rest of Analytics features later in the post.

First lets get you started. To sign up with Google Analytics all you need is your website and Google ID. From there fill out the required(accurate) information about yourself, your website etc. After they will provide you with a tracking code which you place just before the <body> tag on your website. If you have your own Wordpress blog, this tag can be found in the "footer". After you have all your tracking information filled out it may take a day or two for Analytics to start gathering data.

Now the features.... Google Analytics is one of the most versatile Stats programs on the web, giving you tons of reports and information on where and when your traffic is coming right from the largest search giant itself. Below I've listed just some of the things Analytics tracks.

Where visitors are coming from.

New Vs Returning Visitors.

Languages your visitors speak.

Number of Visits.

Number of page views.

Average number of page views.

Time your visitors spend on your time.

Bounce Rate.

The Loyalty of your Visitors.

The length of visits.

Number of pages each of your visitors is viewing.

What Browsers your viewers are using.

What operating systems your viewers are using.

The screen resolution and screen colors your readers are seeing your website in.

Traffic sources including: Direct Traffic, Referring Sites, Search Engines, Keywords and more.

Content including top content, content by title, content drilldown, top landing pages, and top exit pages.

If that wasn't enough, there are plenty of other features of Google Analytics which you'll discover after using it for a short period of time. For more information on Google Analytics you can visit their website or you can send me an email with any questions you might have. Analytics is a great product and is essential for any website owner wanting to know how they are doing, right from the biggest referrer on the internet......Google.

How To Quickly Upload Files To The Internet

Almost everyone has a website now days. They buy the domain, buy the webhosting, design the site, create the content, and then.... what? How do I place the website I've created onto the internet? Today that question will be answered while we take a look at an FTP file upload tool that I've been using for just over a year now called Filezilla.

First off it's important to know what an FTP uploader is. An FTP uploader basically uploads files(Exports files onto the Internet), whether it be html, flash, or whatever you need uploaded to your hosting server. Most hosting companies provide their users with a web based FTP uploader, however they tend to be slower and unrealistic. That's where Filezilla comes in.

Filezilla is a FTP software client in which you download and install to your computer just like any other program you'd install. Once you've gotten that completed and have the Filezilla client opened it's easy as bread and butter.

On the top you will see three text boxes including "Host" "Username" and "Password". Fill in those boxes with the required information.

Your Host is typically ftp://yourwebsite.com

Your username is the name that you sign into your website hosting account with.

Your Password is also the password that you use to sign into your website hosting account.

From there click quick connect and you'll see all the files within your hosted website directory on the right side. On the left side you will see all of your locally hosted files. Now it's as simple as drag and drop. Drag the files you wish to be uploaded(putting files onto the server) or downloaded(if your taking files off the server) into the appropriate directory. The files should upload/download automatically.

You did it! Your files should now be hosted on the server your hosting company has provided you. If you have any questions about this please feel free to email me or comment below.

How To Ship a Vehicle!

Shipping is becoming very common in this day in age, as a great portion of shopping is done using the Internet. What happens when you need to ship a Van, Car, Truck, or SUV? Well today I'm going to go over the process of sending a motor vehicle somewhere and what steps should be taken during the process.

Call the company- The earlier the better. Try calling the company that you plan to use for shipping your automobile as early as possible as this can potentially lower costs and you'll have a better chance of making sure your car is shipped in a timely fashion. There are many types of shipping methods your vehicle may be shipped by including train(land shipping), ship(overseas shipping), or by trailer(local land shipping).

Wait For the Call- The shipper should be calling you within 24-72 hours. Make sure that before this phone call comes that you have planned where and when your motorized vehicle should be picked up. The actual pickup time of your vehicle will vary. It can be anytime during the day usually because companies run their service 24 hours daily. It's crucial that you're ready for pickup and have the appropriate paper work sorted out.

The mover will now perform a "Bill of Landing" procedure. This is done to check what type of condition the vehicle is before the shipment and will also, in most cases, be repeated again after the shipment. Make sure that your watching the employee of the shipment company while he is performing his rounds.

Now your car is on it's way- If your shipment is destined to travel across the country, or through international waters it may take

With Logitechs added "Smart State Technology", this device allows you to control up to 15 different components of the remote with a tap of a finger. A couple of the most prized features of the Harmoney 1000 is it's one thousand colour display and it's ability to send infrared and Z-waves which simplifies distance limitations when controlling devices from another room.

As I said earlier the Harmoney has a 1000 colour display but failed to mention that included along with that stunning display is a 3.5 inch screen which makes it's touch features a little more usable. It also allows one-touch activity based control with even some of the more cultivating A/V elements.

What Is The Best Free Internet Security Software?

In this day and age it's important to keep your computer safe and secure as there are plenty of virus's spreading throughout the net. Unfortunately a majority of those virus's are designed to attack Windows users which probably means you. With 90% of computer owners being Windows users there are plenty of affordable ways to keep your computer safe from hackers. In fact today I'm going to talk about free security software called AVG which is one of the best ones on the market.

As i mentioned AVG is free and can quickly be downloaded at Download.com. Now i should warn you that like any other type of security software AVG will slow your computer down particularly during it's start up sequence. However the benefits of downloading this program far out way the cons. For example, AVG updates itself daily which means that you will be protected 24 hours a day from the newest and cruelest viruses and spyware out there. You also have the option to set AVG to scan your computer daily at a time so that wont effect your use of your machine.

Other important security features that the AVG free version comes with include an email scanner, Anti-Virus scanner, and Anti-Spyware scanner. These are very basic features but are crucial in keeping your machine clean from all of that malicious software.

OK i've pointed out all the benefits of AVG free but now it's time to go through the cons. AVG Free version doesn't come with the following:

Anti-Root Kit

Anti-Spam

Firewall

Safe Downloads

Safe Instant Messaging

Safe Surf

Free Support

These features can be useful in certain situations but the general user really doesn't need all of them to keep their computer safe. Newer Windows machines come with it's own firewall so there generally isn't a need to purchase an extra one. Most email services such as Gmail are very good at keeping spam out of your inbox so the anti-spam service that AVG paid version has really won't make much of a difference. Safe Surf and Safe Instant Messaging in my opinion both aren't a necessity in keeping your computer safe. In my opinion it's as simple as using common sense when receiving files etc from IM clients such as MSN Messenger. If however you feel you need to have all of these missing features you can download the AVG paid version which starts at a decent price of $59.00 Canadian. They also have available a 30 day trial for users that aren't sure about whether they want to use AVG or not.

There are plenty of other free security software services available in today's market but I personally think that AVG knocks out the competition. I've used it for almost a year now and have had absolutely no regrets whatsoever. They give you a great sense of security for the perfect price(absolutely free), and if you don't like it your not stuck having already paid for it.

Do you know of any quality security software that is free? Have you ever been attacked by a certain type of Virus or Spyware? What features do you look for in Security Software? I'm very interested in knowing what you have to say so feel free to leave a comment below or send my a reply on Twitter.
