I was thrilled that Slumdog Millionaire was the big winner. It was refreshing to see people who win who didn't come with a gazillion Hollywood dollars behind them. It was also good to see a movie win that told a great story. No amount of glitz or special effects can compensate for a poor story.
I only watched about 20 minutes, but honestly, that was plenty. I can't get past a bunch of people guzzling about how great they all are. Is Mickey Rourke really make our lives better?
One more thing - I don't need Sean Penn lecturing us on how we should view marriage. He has just a few credibility issues there - domestic violence & marrying Madonna would be the beginning. Funny how celebrities think that their fame gives them credibility to speak about all things. With that said, I hope his current marriage survives it's shakiness and that he and many more will find that God's views of such things were actually meant to help us.
