I had one of the best days today that I've had in a while. Here's how I was blessed:

Had breakfast & spent some time with God. I'm in II Timothy right now.

Took Cole to school & then met with Dave. He shared some encouraging stuff with me this morning. I'm excited about some ministry opportunities that he has.

Spent some time studying & then making a hospital visit.

Jason Casey is one of the better friends I've had in my life. We met my Senior year in high school and then spent our college years together (even rooming for some of them). We shared some dreams, some hurts and some passions. Some of you know that Matt DeWelt was one of my very best friends in Jr. High & High School. Matt was Jason's best friend in their childhood (they grew up together in Santiago, Chili).
Jason lives in Italy & we haven't been able to get together in a long time, but we got about 5 or so hours of time together today. It was awesome to hear how lots of our passions and dreams still align. And it was great just to be together & catch-up.

I get to mentor a boy at Hoover. This weekend they had a family crisis occur and he's really hurting. I was able to connect with one of his family members to let them know that I was available if they needed anything. I didn't want to be pushy but felt like I needed to make myself available if God has something in mind with me & this situation. I was glad to make that connection today and it was well received.

Cole had a really fun baseball practice. We coaches worked 'em pretty hard but they had fun.

CR was amazing tonight. Beth & I both went. We got to hear 5 or 6 short testimonies, all from HP people who are involved. Several had never shared theirs before and it was incredible.

Then I ended up playing tennis with some tennis buddies. I love it because they are good guys. They are all a lot younger than me, but seem to be OK letting the old guy play. One of the guys playing with them tonight was someone that I'd met a long time ago. He and I have a close mutual friend & it was cool to catch-up with him.

Anyway, really cool day. Even the Cards & Celtics won. ha ha. Maybe tomorrow I'll stub my toe before I get to the shower, but today was really cool & I'm thankful to God for it.
